Fuselage

The fuselage begins with the floor and ceiling which are fitted and tacked in their respective jigs. In the top picture below the firewall station jig is bolted in place to allow removal of the fuselage. All fuselages are welded with five-point motor mount bushings already in place to allow all four and six cylinder engines to be installed with no airframe changes. All AviPro fuselages also have the utility door option installed along with the bushings for float fittings.

Pictured in the bottom picture is the fuselage floor jig. Note how every steel tube is painted a certain color to correspond with a different wall thickness of the 4130 tubing. All the jigs are now painted with the right color in each tube location so the possibility of error is very small. Still, EVERY tube is checked with a dial caliper before being used – regardless of the color it is painted.
